Q: What do you ask for when you get your hair done?
A: I do balayage, which is a lower maintenance color technique that allows me to keep my natural root color. I like having a shadow root or “root smudge” so we never bring my foils all the way to the top. This allows for gorgeous grow out and that beachy, sunkissed look. I alternate between fulls and partials and go every 12 weeks for my color. Depending on the vibe I’m going for at the time, I may ask for more or less face framing but don’t typically do a “money piece” as that’s just not my preference currently. For the tone (one of the top questions I get) I like vanilla, sandy, beige tones and prefer to be on the cooler side of things as opposed to warm. I’m incredibly lucky that I’ve been seeing my girl Katia since 2014 and she’s a master at coloring/cutting my mane! You can find a full round up of all of my hair care favorites and tools here.
What Size Are You?
A: For reference, I’m 5’2 so I’m on the petite side of things. I’m typically a 25 short in jeans (Abercrombie is my favorite of all time), xs or small in tops and bottoms, size 6-6.5 in shoes. I do like to mention I am a bit bustier, and for bras, bikinis, etc. I am a 32D.
Q: Do you have extensions?
A: Yes! I’ve had hand tied extensions for three years now and love them! I currently have two rows of 22 inch wefts, that are trimmed to about 20 inches. Although I do have extensions, my natural hair is actually just as long! I have a full post coming on my extensions soon!
Q: Is this your full time job? What did you do before?
A: I’m so proud to have content creation/influencing/blogging (whichever term floats ur boat) as my full time job. This started as a total hobby and creative outlet for me back while I was in college during my senior year and was something I continued to pursue as a passion project. I had NO CLUE the opportunities that would arise from this and that something I loved doing so deeply could become my full time career. I went to college for PR and Communications, and got a ton of experience in the corporate social media and PR space initially after college. I was a social media manager in my last corporate role before going full time with my business (fitting, right?!).
Q: What did you have on your baby registry?
A: You can find a round up of what I had on mine here. I’m currently 3 months postpartum and can confirm I’m super happy with everything we added! The only change I would have made is adding more burp cloths, because IYKYK!
